Purchasing Norton Was A Mistake

Hello...

I had purchased Norton 360 Plus for my system security, replacing my McAfee Total Security Suite I had for 5 years. The price for the Norton was simply too good to pass so I purchased 3 years worth of coverage.

Norton seems like rather a good package, with anti-virus, VPN etc. but there is a major fatal flaw. Norton 360 is PURPOSELY DESIGNED to slow down your system in order to sell you their other products for a huge price uptick. $118 yr here, $178 yr there, which made me laugh. Anyone stupid enough to fall for this scam deserves everything they get. Slowing down your system on purpose in order to shill their products designed to 'fix' the slowdowns THEY CAUSED is called 'blackmail'. Buy this, or else! I am sick of watching my system become slowed to a crawl only to see a Norton popup exclaim the system has slowed down and they could fix it IF you buy this product! This happens EVERY SINGLE DAY. Purchasing this product was a massive mistake. I had McAfee for 5 years and never once was my system slowed-down in an attempt to sell me any further products. I will be suggesting to others to NOT purchase any Norton products unless they want to see their systems slowed-down ON PURPOSE for the sole purpose of selling more of their products. I am considering removing Norton from my computer at a loss and re-purchasing McAfee instead. To me, slowing-down someone's computer on purpose to sell their other products is an criminal act and Norton should be charged for it.

Hello. Those are "baked in" feature sell-up notifications which Norton marketing designed into the Norton products. There is NO WAY to disable them, we can only ignore them at this point. There are many threads here on the forums regarding the issue.

There are ways to stop auto-renewal and still have the product as advertised. Renewals can be done by purchasing Norton from a trusted retailer vice renewals online.

If you could share some specifics such as the maker and model of your computer, how much system memory is installed, the CPU, etc. I will do my level best to help.
