First let me say I am not computer savvy so, please, bear with me...
I was on Facebook playing an application (Word Twist) when numerous (7) pop ups appeared on my screen. They were referring to the anti-malware-live-scanv3.com. This looked fishy to me since nothing was indicating that Norton had found anything. I ran a full scan and the only thing found were some tracking cookies. I did run updates and scanned again and the only thing found was tracking cookies. I tried to close the pop ups but no such luck. I turned the PC off and the pop ups are now gone (at least not showing on my screen). So my question is since I tried to close them manually by clicking cancel is the malware on my PC? How can I find out if it is? (I was never redirected to another website nor knowingly downloaded anything during all of this.) This PC is only a month old and I'd hate to think I broke it already.
Thanks for any assistance and let me know if you need more info or if I need to clarify anything.
