Question About Full Scans

Hi Everyone,

I have a couple of questions:

1. I did a full scan today and NIS 2012 found some Java Exploits (trojans) in my Java cache files   Norton quarantined them rather than removing them.  I have my virus scan set to remove threats automatically, so why were these quarantined rather than being automatically removed???

I was able to remove them myself by going into the Java Console and emptying the Temporary files, but why can't Norton do this automatically  if it finds trojans hanging out in the Java cache files??

2.  This is a Java related question but I noticed that in the Java Console, you can turn off the storage of any java related temporary internet files.  It seems like this would keep trojans from appearing in the Java cache files... but are there any disadvantages to having this feature turned off??
