When running the NIS 2011 Installer (NIS-ESD-18-6-0-29-EN) from norton.com/nis11, is it necessary to right click on it and select Run As Administrator? I just double clicked it and it installed successfully. The following post says to right click on it and select Run As Administrator. Most other posts don't say to do that.
Am I going to run into any trouble because I just double clicked it? I have Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64 bit. I installed NIS11 from my administrator account. Here's the procedure I followed:
* Downloaded NIS-ESD-18-6-0-29-EN from norton.com/nis11
* Disconnected from Internet
* Uninstalled the NIS11 OEM mulit-language trial version that came preinstalled on my HP laptop
* Rebooted
* Connected to Internet (I'm behind a router firewall)
* Double clicked NIS-ESD-18-6-0-29-EN.
* Followed the instructions.
