Question about quarantine... Please reply

Hey all i just ran a scan a reputation scan and some of my files were Poor and it said would i like to quarantine the file i said Yes ...

when it was done quaranting does that delete the file that i quarantined???  I dont have to worry about that file no more when i quarantined it right????

Thx so much for helping

The files are put in a special "Quarantine" folder by Norton; they are copied, compressed, encrypted and stored, then the original file(s) is (are) deleted from your system.  The files in Quarantine are non-executable files; meaning they are not accessible by anything but Norton while they are in Quarantine.

If you go to your History screens and choose the drop down box, scroll to Quarantine, you will see a list of Norton's Quarantine actions.  Selecting one of the records in the list by double clicking will give you access to options to Restore the files, Remove the record from History (which also deletes the Quarantined item(s) from the Quarantine area [thus totally removing them from your system], Submitting the files to Symantec (for inspection and further classification).

Once the files are Quarantined, they are 'deleted' from your system as far as being active but you can still retrieve them if you want (as long as Norton did not consider these High Risk items in the first place).

Thanks alot of helping me!! :)
