Part of my job is IT support at my local church. I've been going to each workstation and booting the Ghost 15 CD to save system images to a local external backup drive. I'm lightly familiar with Back Up My Computer and Restore My Computer. I've been doing this because I didn't realize, right away, that this was a package that could be installed, instead of mearly using it as a boot CD. I thought that this was the alternative to installing software.
Apparently there's an easier way to do this. I finally installed the Ghost 15 on my worstation and scheduled a backup of My Computer (C), and My Documents.
Is the process of backing up My Computer, with the installed schedule running, the same and just as effective, as booting the CD and saving a image of the computer? I was under the miss-guided impression that I needed to use the boot CD to safely save the entire contents of the drive when the OS was not running.
