Re: Computer unable to boot after installing update

I have the same problem on my desktop.  I followed the prompt to remove the Norton System Works from the add or delete programs menu.  The Norton yellow un-install screen came up and started the uninstall process.  After several minutes I came back into the room and there was a message that an error had occurred and I needed to install an uninstall patch, which I did.  After installing the un-install patch which did complete the uninstall I was prompted that the computer would need to restart.  I clicked OK and started the cycle of ongoing computer restarts that will not boot up.  I’ve been on hold with tech support for over an hour now.  I can not get the computer to F8 reboot in safe mode.  I also can stop the Goback boot menu but I can’t get it to go back or repair the problem.
