Hi Operatigger,
I am very sorry for the poor experience you've had with Norton 360. Which version of the product are you using? I would recommend taking advantage if the FREE UPDATE to Norton 360 v2 available to all customers with a valid subscription. I am sorry if this is already the case, I'm trying to figure out the problem.
Could there be a conflict between the Norton 360 Firefox toolbar and another add-on for the browser? Try disabling them one at a time, or maybe two at a time and see if the issue is resolved. Please let me know if these are already things you have tried, and we can ger more information on your system. You may also wish to contact our Customer Support team through the product's Help & Support link. Or you can visit the below site to contact our free Customer Support:

Operatigger,
I am not sure if this is a Norton 360 issue or not. I believe I was having the same problem, and still am.
Here is what I came across on the Mozilla page:
Firefox 3 sometimes opens to blank page with no bookmarkshttp://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?locale=eu&comments_parentId=87058&forumId=1
I've have this problem and its been driving me mad - only I've just found the solution!
Seem that firefox crashes when its closed and so the process remains running whilst the window is gone. Re-opening firefox then brings up the blank bookmarks and no back or history.
Thing to do is end the process in Task Manager ('firefox.exe') and then restart.
Now while that works, I certainly hope the folks at Mozilla are working on a fix. Looks more like a Mozilla issue, but they were asking about Norton 360 in that forum.
Hope this helps.
I do not think its a Firefox problem, the trouble as far as I can tell is that Norton 360 is not shutting the programs you open completely when you close them. If you go to task manager after you shut Firefox, you'll notice it is still running, close it from task manager and you can reopen it with no problem. The reason I say it is not Firefox, but Norton is bacuse Firefox is not the only program that refuses to reopen if you do not open task manager and close it from there, Outlook, Photoshop, Word also now do this since I installed Norton 360, had no problems ever with Norton Internet Security, 2007 and 2008, now since I installed Norton 360 yesterday, its like my computer now has gone crazy, after using Norton products for many years, theis Norton 360 is a big and I DO MEAN BIG LETDOWN!!!

Bossman1,
First I heard of the issue with other programs.
I just downloaded the latest Firefox version, 3.0.1, and have shutdown the browser completely a half a dozen times. It seems to shut down clean now. It may be worth a try. There was also a hint to adjust the Firefox Privacy Tab under settings in Norton 360. I tried that a few times and each time Firefox shutdown clean. I did notice that the Firefox Privacy Tab does not always stay checked though, so I am not ruling out some connection. So far, this beats having to end task every time.
It looks like this problem is now being tracked in the message

Firefox 3 blank screen no menus -- resolved but then returned
Prevalent Problem. I didn't even bother to read all your post, just had to scan to the part about Windows XP and Firefox 3.
Firefox 3's process hangs in memory. When you open Firefox again, you will lost all your bookmarks, the functionality of the back/foward buttons, along with a plethora of other probelms.
Remedys:
A) Change to Vista. Vista does not have this issue with Firefox 3.
OR
B) Go to Task Manager and terminate all instances of Firefox.exe upon close of Firefox.
Norton 360 is completly unrelated to this issue.
