I had to recovery laptop back to factory settings and now don't know how to re-install norton security that i recently renewed, i do have online receipt with serial no and product key, please help?
You can sign in to your Norton Account and see which Norton product you have. Then download the Norton product, install it, and then activate using your Product Key.
You can find the detailed steps here in the following support article:
Redownload and reinstall your Norton product
Thankyou.
harrison,
Just take care that if the factory restore reinstalled a trial version of a security program other than Norotn you absolutely must uninstall it and clean up with a special tool you can download from most program sites or you will have problems. It's not enough to just uninstall in the usual Windows way.
If the trial is Norton then tell us which of the several it is and which you want to install -- Norton AntiVIrus, Norton Internet Security or Norton 360 ...... then we can point you in the right direction.
Hi, has49.
Welcome.
A reinstallation shouldn't affect the number of installations that you have left (licenses). If you haven't already removed your current installation, then I suggest you go and install and run Norton's Remove and Reinstall Tool (see here). However, if you have already removed it from your machine, then you will have to sign into your Norton account here and download a fresh copy that way.
Hi has49,
If you run into problems with the number of licenses available, you can contact Live chat, explain the situation to them and they should be able to free up an activation.
Live chat- www.norton.com/chat
Also if the system recovery you are referring to is the one that returns your system to original factory condition, it may have a trial antivirus program installed. If it is other than the exact same N 360 you have a license for you will have to uninstall it, run the product's removal tool and then install your N 360. We can help you find the corrct removal tool if you tell us the product you have for a trial.
Please let us know how things go.

Generally, as long as you are reinstalling the Norton product on the same hardware, ie you have not changed the motherboard or hard drive, you can reinstall Norton without affecting your number of activations.
As Yank says, things can be corrected by online chat if things go wrong.
Yes and no's here to my question... It is my son' s (a fumbler ) computer. I consider taking the chance, hoping not to loose a licence. Hope also that my own machine lasts for another year. Thanks to all!
