Re-Install Norton 360

My OS crashed and I have to re-install Norton 360. Download okay but towards the end of the install process, I get a window which REQUIRES that I state "My Uninstall preferene."  Cam't get away from it. I don't want to uninstall. It also wants to know "why I am Leaving Nortin" ????? HELP!

Hello rckuner and welcome!

When you state 'My OS crashed', do you mean a complete failure requiring a fresh re-install of the OS?

  1. Can you tell us which version of 360 you are using?
  2. Do you have any other security software currently installed?
  3. Also, if you can tell us which operating system you are using along with the service pack, that would further help us with diagnosing your issue.

Thanks.

Hi Rckuner,

Welcome to Norton Community!

There may the previous installation which is still present in your computer. Download and run the Norton Removal Tool:

http://www.symantec.com/nrt

Once the tool completes, restart the computer and then try to download and reinstall Norton 360:

Thanks,

Yes, I had to re-install Windows XP into a new directory.

  1. Norton 360 Version 5.0
  2. No other security software
  3. Windows XP, Service pack 3

Thanks for looking at this. The instruction at the end of the Norton 360 re-install (I have 2 downloads available) reads:

"Select your uninstall preference."

THIS WORKED, HARRYP. Thanks so much!!!
