I just installed NIS2010 on 1st January, and I also miss the incoming email scanning icon from previous versions - it was reassuring to see it operating when mail was coming in, and gave me some peace-of-mind to know that Norton was doing its job. I've read all the posts on this subject, and I think Symantec should satisfy its many customer requests and immediately initiate a fix via Live Update to reinstate this feature. Please let us decide if it is annoying or a distraction (it is neither, in my view) and give us the option to deactivate the icon if we want to, but please don't just not include it when we've had it for so long and so many of us want it back now - not in 12 months' time - but via a live update this month please.
