RE: TWCApp.exe

At start up, the app for The Weather Channel loads, a blank screen appears, a "downloading files" bar appears, then my computer goes into "safe mode".

If I allow it to continue, it will eventually show a recovery manager program by Cyberlink.

Until I discovered the possible source of this problem, the only way to stop this start up app was to turn off the power to the computer.

Using the "msconfig" program, I've disabled it from the startup programs titled "unknown" C:/Programs Files (x86)/The Weather Channel/The Weather Channel App/TWCApp.exe.

Since I've disabled this app, I haven't had any more problems. So far, so good.

Does Norton have a method of checking this app for reliability?

The start up problem occurred again, so I thought that the after market wireless mouse may be causing the problem. It was the source of the problem. Odd, that my wife uses the same brand of mouse for her laptop without any problems. I removed the Gear Head brand mouse and replaced it with a wired mouse I purchased from the HP store. That was six months ago and I haven't had any more problems since. I'm posting this follow-up, in case anyone reads it may consider the problem I had with an after market wireless mouse that often "phoned home" for updates that caused a software conflict with my HP computer.
