I presume you have clicked on Board/Thread Options and then on Mark all messages as read ?

See if CTRL+F5, which forces an online update from the source, is a painless way of making sure you are in synch with "head office" <s>

My problem was that I open new messages in a new browser tab.

Got it figured out now.

Thanks!

When I finish reading whatever messages on a board that I'm interested in, I like to mark it as "all messages read".

When I go back to the Community home page, however,  it still shows the same number of new messages as before.

It appears the only way I can update the "new messages" is to log off and log on again.

Is it possible to update the number of new messages in "real time" as opposed to logging off and on? This is more a question than a complaint.

I think you must be using your browser 'back' button.   Try the forum breadcrumbs instead...that is the line just above the search box that starts with the words 'Norton Community'... to navigate.   If thats not the issue let me know.

The new message count is real time.
