I recently updated my facebook information so that my cell phone number is linked to the account. When an "unknown device" logs into my account, facebook sends me a text message like this : "A new unknown device logged into your Facebook account (Today at 8:41 pm). If this wasn't authorized, check your email for instructions."
Two days ago I was at a friends house, grabbed his computer and logged onto my facebook. Predictably I get that message sent to my cell phone telling me my account was just accessed. This time, however, the message did not come from facebook (326-65 is their number); rather, it came from another person whose number I have stored in my contacts (e.g. "John John").
This person whose phone notified me that my account was accessed is someone I suspect has been monitoring my computer remotely. He has always struck me as a bit of a stalker, and is also the only one I know who would have the tech abilities to do this.
Can someone explain how this is possible? I checked my facebook account settings and my number and my email are the only ones listed on the account. I've since changed all my passwords to something much more complex and random. I'm sure he could have hacked my old one.
