A little challenging for me, but instructions were very good and I did manage to follow all the steps. However, my old computer was running XP (new one is Windows 7) and apparently had a quite different file structure for the version of Norton I was running. In particular, the new Windows 7 has a file folder under the Norton progam data of {0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7} with files in this folder of N360_6.0.0.145 (folder), SRSTP (folder), comms, and isolate. The instructions say to open N360_6.0.0.145 and navigate to the IdentitySafeDataStore folder to start the recover process -- eventually replacing a folder under this file with a folder from the backed up files.
Unfortunatily, the file structure of my backed up files is quite different. The last place they match is at the level of the files in the folder {0C55C096-0F1D-4F28-AAA2-85EF591126E7}. This folder contains files SRSTP (folder), comms, and isolate (just like the new Windows 7 version), but instead of a file folder (N360_6.0.0.145 in the WIndows 7 version) with hundreds of files in it, it has a single text file named {2AD3A95C-1CF6-4a59-99E1-67BE16B2FD6A}. I am not sure how to proceed from here.
Any suggestions?
