Usually I can access Password Manager with Face Recognition via my ios Mobile App (iphone), however, today for some reason the app has requested my logon username and password which I have used and then it requires the a Vault Password which I do not know.
I have clicked on “Forgot vault password?” and it says “Secure vault was setup automatically - use mobile app to setup your password” and also says “You have not created a recovery key” and there is no option to setup the password via the mobile app for the Vault, so I am unable to proceed and unlock the vault to see access my passwords
The first usename and password requested are to log into your Norton Account. Then you are asked for the vault password which you would have created when you set up the vault initially.
When you entered your Norton Account credentials, did you try accessing your vault with facial recognition?
Forgot Vault Password process would take you to your mobile device to use biometric access to the vault. From there you would be able to change your password. Any other attempts to change the password could result in creating a new vault, which would wipe out your old vault, losing all your logins. You have to read all the prompts carefully.
I’ve been using the app daily with face recognition for a number of years, it went straight to login screen for user name and password, which as you can guess I didn’t know so had to reset that. The vault password I have absolutely no idea about. The mobile app is asking me to use the mobile app to setup the password, however, there is no available option in the mobile app to do that and the vault password hint says the vault was set up automatically (refer to screenshot)IMG_55411|230x500
Try restarting your device. This may clear any cache information and allow the face recognition to work again.
What iPhone and iOS version are you using?
