I was reading lots of messages about restoring and getting partitions in the wrong order, etc. For some reason I had this idea...
If a person does a clean install of 7, they get the SRP and they get their OS partition, plus maybe some other data partitions. At some point they decide to back up their partitions. I'm thinking that there would be two main things that would make them want to restore- either they get a real nasty virus that wipes out their OS, or their hard drive dies. They could install a new hard drive, do a clean install of 7, which creates a new SRP, new OS partition, and everything. Then they can restore the OS partition from their back, the SRP partition is already there exactly where Windows wants it, so would this be a good strategy for restoring whereby you wouldn't have to deal with the SRP?
