Hello,
I installed an application called Rapport from trusteer.com today, this was recommended and directly downloaded from my UK online bank. I see a number of UK banks are recommending it's use. Since installing Rapport, all documents that I create and save to my pc or download from elsewhere are showing a red icon with white exclamation mark. Is this action related to to the Rapport application?? I sent a query to trusteer.com, but have not as yet had a response.
I have Norton Internet Security 2009 running which according to the list at trusteer.com is compatible. I also have SpyBot and Ad-Aware by Lavasoft - both of which I only run on a manual basis and have not run today.
I just created a test document in word pad and saved it. When I go to my NIS 2009 history it lists this:
Severity Activity Blocked
Medium Unauthorised access blocked Blocked
(Open Process Token)
In right pane under Alert Details it says:
Actor: c;\program files\trusteer\rapport\bin\rapportservice.exeThe previous entry says:
Severity Activity Blocked
Info An instance of c:\program Detected
files\windowsNT\accessories\wordpad.exe
is preparing to access the internet
So it appears NIS 2009 is inolved in my problem, but I do not know what to do and whether I tackle in NIS 2009 or in Rapport.
Another problem is that files with this warning icon are not being recognised by my online sync/backup - they are ignored, so I want to put things right.
I am a bit loathe to just un-install Rapport since the bank thinks this should be installed in addition to my other anti-virus product.
Can someone advise me?
