Registering Web Site

What a nightmare with customers calling in in some cases petrified of using our websites in case it damages their computer.

The loss of business to us as Norton send our customers elsewhere is a financial disaster in our peak season.

I have been trying to register to have the grey tick removed from our websites for nearly 3 days now.

I finally got through to a Norton gentleman in India who issued me two codes for our main webshops.

Unfortuanately neither of my web hosting companies will  accept either code for the 'root folders' of our websites.

One described it as spyware. (incorrectly it seems  I thought you purchased Norton to prevent spyware)

We are retailers, that is what we do,selling things, that is our business and I have nil understanding or desire to find out what all this IT babble speak about 'threads' and 'tags' and the endless questions about 'root folders' ect.

My time is valuable and I cannot waste it reading all the masses of so called information in the hope somewhere I may find what I have to do (and when I read it will I be any wiser without taking an IT course).

I just want our legitimate and long standing business's to be allowed to operate as we are entitled to do as per UK law and to protect our employees in their jobs without Nortons damaging interference.

The website suffering the most damage is a relatively new one where the grey tick seems to be stifling our Google Adwords campagne  http://www.groundsheetsuk.com/index.asp and the other is www.breathablegroundsheet.co.uk which until recently has been doing tremendous business.

The second website is almost 5 years old and has never had a single IT issue/malignant code or any other issue against it so why have they classified it as dodgy ( the potential customers perception when they see the grey tick rating)

Have any other victims taken legal advice ( I have booked an telephone appointment to take further advice from a barister later today) or even contacted their MPs about this unfair damage to their business's?

How many thousands of small business's have had a drop in sales business (as we have) without realising what is going on?
