I discovered yesterday that Registry Mechanic (which I never bought or installed) Turned off two Features of Norton in my PC - Internet Explorer History and Registry Cleanup - I tried to delete RegMech from my system but when I turned on PC Today RegMech had set itself as a desktop icon and turned off the same two features in Norton - How do I completely remove RegMech from my PC as they have hidden files? - could not identify all of their files by opening Programs & Features through Control Panel Page - does Norton own PC Tools? - I never gave Registry Mechanic or PC Tools Permission to do anything yet it "scanned" my PC twice (at least) anyway and found the same 173 Reg Errors as yesterday even though I had used Norton Registry cleanup (after I turned it back on) which listed a number of Reg errors found and removed them - I Have Norton Security Suite as my IP is Comcast - I am using Win7 64bit Home Premium, IE8 32bit as my Browser - Please show me the Courtesy of a Reply
The second issueis I realize I may well be posting this in the wrong area but after spending over an hour trying to find some way to send an e-mail to a Human Being at Norton I am angry about the practice of Software Companies making it almost impossible to contact someone (or anyone) via e-mail - I did find a phone number but since ALL of my experience seeking an actual solution from C/S Call Centers have failed I do not want to waste any more of my time trying to explain a problem or to convey a message using these people because I have learned these people are untrained, undertrained, incompetent, don't give a **bleep**, with their primary goal of short call times to keep their jobs or earn bonus's for short call time averages at the complete and total expensve of providing compentent Technical or Administrative Support. I know this from spending 14 months of HELL working in one for a Major US Corporation but when I did so the call never ended until the Customer had a valid solution (which at times did require transferring the call to someone with more expertise on an issue than I had even though Management viewed doing so as a Crime) If I gave my first message to one of these people I have zero doubt that it would not make it to someone appropriate. If you think about it besides trying to help myself I may well be helping thousands of people if they are having this same issue. If so I would be doing a big favor for/to Norton
