Registry Scan

Hello. I was wondering where the Registry Scan and Fix is on the Utilities Premium. The update was done and now it is gone.

Would be nice to know why it seems to have been removed.

Or for that matter, ditch Norton Utilities Premium 17 and install System Mechanic.  NU 17 is nothing more than a stripped down version of SM.  SM has the registry cleaner.  I have been using SM for a few years and I have found it to be very reliable and much less expensive to "renew" than NU.  Just my two cents...

Current Windows versions do a better job of registry maintenance. And there generally is no benefit to a registry clean as there was in the 'old days' of 386 computers where even reading the registry took a measurable amount of time. Also, unless a user understands the registry, cleaning can cause more trouble than the user is trying to fix. Worst case, it can brick your computer.

This is why Norton no longer provides any registry tools.

I have the latest Norton Utilities Premium version 17.0.7.7 and I do not find any registry scanner. If you are interested in a registry scanner you might try CCleaner from Piriform.
