Reinstall on Mac - error "We are unable to connect to the Internet."

Norton 360 for Mac stopped opening again.

After deleting and using the removal tool as directed, the freshly downloaded reinstall file opened but when "install" was chosen, failed with error message:

"We are unable to connect to the Internet. Please check your
connection and try again"  Screen shot attached.

There is no connectivity issue...I downloaded the file, and everything else is working normally.

iMac using OS 12.1

Several attempts made with same result. Previous reinstalls worked successfully.

How can I restore service?

FYY when I posed the question on the Apple community forum I received a number of strong responses advising that I should dump Norton. Importantly members sent links to Apple’s discussions of impressive security features built in to recent OS’s. I have decided to stop struggling with an unresponsive Norton organization. You can easily find the Apple
security descriptions online, and decide. I also decided to encrypt my hard drive.
Good luck.

I have the same issue.  I have had it probably a dozen times.  After removal and reinstallation Norton 360 works for one or two startups and then the same issue occurs where Norton 360 never starts but sits there spinning.  This is on my iMac.  My Mac never has this issue and in fact Norton 360 is running fine on it right now.  I have tried tech support repeatedly with no permanent solution.  Does anyone know if there is a way to fix this, or should I uninstall Norton off all my machines and find another product to use?  I should note that now I cannot install 360 because of the can't connect to the internet message.  That has been the case through multiple restarts and over two days.

We'll try to call attention:

I have a similar problem. macbook air 12.1. All the same problems. and my 1 year now says it has 66 days trial. bought on november 19. I called on sunday, they restarted 5 times. same problems. Called back the next day, 3 hours wasted.  I got it running clean and virus. I just wanted my 1 year subscription. They both (yes the same names from the previous times} and now the darn thing is not working again.I hung on for 2 hours and then gave up, realizing the service  person was not typing anything for half an hour.  When you give them control of the machine you have to stay around to type in your password each time. And you can't leave as you don't know when they will be needed. Norton was working when I called, I just wanted the rest of my subscription. Now nothing is working. And as someone said, they don't call back. 3rd level help was supposed to call monday from 2-4. that never happened.
