Many thanks for your suggestion and link.
I have tried this but it has'nt solved the problem.
Have you already attempted to contact our Customer Support team?
http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/productdetail/contact_ts.jsp?pid=&pvid=n360_2.0
This would be a great first step; if you wish, they can access your system and troubleshoot the problem directly. If you've already tried this, I apologize. Please let us know more details about your system and how they are connected. Thanks!
can you get the network to function with the firewalls turned off? If yes.... then this is typically the best way to learn if this is just a software setting or a number out of place for your network addresses range.
have you reviewed your network settings for the wireless gateway to see if your network is associated to the range of the IP address of the two computers?
LIkeTony asked.. need more details XP/Vista, type of router etc... ... you might try the tech help he mentioned as they do sort these out knowing what to directly look at.
Tony
Many thanks for your reply.
I have tried customer support already to no avail, by that I mean the support given was by the Chat facility where by you engage with a Norton Support Advisor.
I remain unconvinced by the advice given, namely that the issues that I' am experiencing are a "Connection" issue and no other explanation other than this problem is minor one.
I' am currently running Vista SP1 on two Pc's. All are networked through a D-Link Wireless ADSL2+ Router. (Model DKT-810). Both Pc's have USB adapters for the wireless. My ISP supplier is British Telecom (BT)
Funnily enough, I note that newbie k9 in his post to the forums of 08-06-2008 entitled "problem setting up network security" has had the same problem and he is running off Windows XP (both you and a Symantec employee Chester K helped out on that one).
I' m not very au fait when it comes to understanding technical PC speak so if you require any further info in order to help me, then I would be grateful if you bear this in mind.
Thanks

Many thanks for your email
I' am not sure how to get the network function with the firewalls turned off (I'm not very technically minded). Please see my reply to Tony Weiss (dated 09-12-2008) - as you will see more info.
Thanks

One thing I did not see... were these machines networked and talking to each other before you even added N360 to the mix
If so/not
You might want to spend some time reading the details Microsoft has on setting up networks first. With Vista more options to select how much of your computer you want open to the network exist. Besides the help files in Vista read:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928429
One first needs to get the basics in place before worring about other software that gets inbetween these computers and devices.
Hi
I think I have a problem when I run Remote Monitoring Setup on Norton 360.
Here’s the problem
I have two computers A & B.
Both are setup up to a secure wireless network. A printer (shared) is also networked.
When I go to Computer A and open the My Network window, Norton Security Map informs me that it can recognize Computer B and my printer, yet it cannot recognize itself and places a large Red X with a message saying at risk.
Similarly, the same problem exists with Computer B (it can recognize Computer A and the printer - but not itself).
Anybody know what this is about and if it is an issue can it be solved?
Thanks in advance

Many thanks for your reply. I appreciate your helpfulness.
In setting up the network, I followed the instructions from D-Link. The D-Link kit I purchased is an ASDL starter kit so it was supplied comprehensively with instructions. I will admit, I screwed up first time around but eventually I got both my Pc's and Printer to talk/recognise each other on my network second time around. When I was happy with this, I then installed N360 V2.0 on each Pc.
I have seen enough of the "network support help" that Vista supplies to know that in "User Speak" it is pretty understandable and I made sure that any tweaking was done at this end but this was pretty minor stuff - I feel comfortable that any instructions I have carried out (D-Link/Vista) are correct especially as Windows Vista tells me that I'm all connected up. Vista - Network and Sharing confirms this and I can easily send files to and from each Pc - and print off the networked printer no problem.
Given my reply to Tony Weiss on another Users remote setup problem, I think the answer may lie there. I could of course be very wrong (and if so will eat vast amounts of humble pie), but the similarity with what the user k9 had on Windows XP to me is so close I feel the answer must be around those lines.

Seems like your firewall is getting in the way.
I'm not at a 360 set up machine to give exact details, however you need to review your Firewalls settings and approve the range of IP addresses for your two computers.
This might help
