I ran a scan on what I suspected to be an infected hard drive from another PC. At the end of the scan NIS 2009 had located over a dozen "risks", trojan horses and one infostealer entry. NIS was unable to remove the threats on its own due to user permission settings on the files. I then manually removed the files and rescanned the drive. Now NIS frequently pops up telling me I have unresolved issues regarding the files I manually removed with the only options being "get help" and "rescan". Neither option actually clears the messages and there seems to be no way to tell NIS that the files in question no longer exist. How do I get NIS to stop alerting me to files that are no longer in existence?
