Issue abstract: When Privacy function finds databrokers sometimes unable to request removal

Detailed description: Privacy function alerted me to databrokers possibly selling my info. As instructed, I attempted to request removal directly with the databrokers, MyLife and Telephone Directories. Unsuccessful opting out with both databrokers. MyLife opt-out request was not operational and Telephone Directories website was completely unresponsive-unable to enter data. I subsequently researched MyLife and I see that it is a scam. I am assuming Telephone Directories is as well. What is the best option to get my data removed from databrokers that can’t be reached and/or are scams?

Product & version number: Norton 360 Deluxe

OS details: Mac Sequoia v. 15.5

There really is no good way to go about removing your data.

You can pay Norton for Privacy Monitor Assistant and they will do the legwork for you try to remove your info with no guarantees.

If you are successful in removing from one site the same info will repopulate to other sites owned by the same broker. Or they will sell your info to other brokers.

I was succesful in removing my info from several sites a few years ago and today my last scan showed my info on about 59 different sites some owned by the same original broker.

If the data is very private to you I can see your concern but much of it is just info available everywhere like name, age, city etc.

In any case good luck.
