Hi Giorgio,

Welcome to the Norton Community.

You might want to check out a new feature called Norton Management which is available in Norton 2012 versions which would allow you to free up a license in a situation like this on your own without involving Customer Service. This would also handle cases where a computer has crashed or something and you can no longer log into the computer.

You will still need to visit Customer Service for your current situation but this feature could be of value in the future.

Please see the following post for more details.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. I must update to internet security 2012

Thanks again

Giorgio

Giorgio,

As floplot touched on, in order to have activated on your former girlfriend's machine you will have cvreated on it a MyNortonAccount with your email address and login password identical to on your own machine.

So in addition to cancelling her licence activation (it would be civilized to tell her you have had to do this "under the terms of the licence" and that she is not protected on her machine unless she removes the copy of Norton and gets her own.

When you talk to Chat about cancelling her activation so that you can use it if you need to you can ask them to help you change the email address and login password (or at least the login password) on your MyNortonAccount so that she cannot access it.

The Norton Account password can be changed from within the Norton Account itself from the Profile tab > Change Password.

I was pretty certain of that since I've done it myself but didn't know if he wanted to change the email as well or not ...

Plus there may be places in sales records at Norton that need changing!
