Sorry... Just assumed most folks knew what I was talking about..
TOAST is some sort of Malware/Virus that pop-ups (hence the name toast) radomly and turns wireless access on and off and on my Windows Notebook it displays a "Bass" ,"Treble" and other audio tunable pop-ups
I looked for an application name: TOAST (which occassionally shows up in the Task Manager when the "Bass" or "Treble" displays are on the screen.. But it goes away as fast as it appears in Task manager. There is no process in Task Manager called "TOAST" The main problem is that it is able to enable/disable Wireless access at will... and the "Bass" "Treble" pop-ups are a great annoyance..
Thanks

Hi Jer,
is your pc from HP ?
type / model ?
It is an HP I don't have the model type available right now..
It is an Entertainment Model w/HD TV Tuner, etc., etc..built in..
There are many posts at various forums but found no real solutions to remove it..
Will get Model/Type this evening and post back..
Thanks
Jer
this was found by me:
It seems to be no malware and it has nothing to do with Norton.
The best seems to be that you go to the HP forum / support web site.
Thanks.
Thanks..
I understood that this was not a Norton Problem.. But since this is some kind of Malware/Virus I was asking If Norton had a removal tool one could purchase ---
All the HP discussions I saw were never really solved..
Jer...
We have one wonderful volunteer here called Quads who has an extraordinary expertise in cleaning up really bad malware and he works his way through the Forums from old to new so your best bet IMO would be to wait on until he gets to your message so you can see what he knows about Toast and how to remove it.
Because of the open structure of the forums here he can only do the one on one needed if others don't jump in with suggestions and he also needs you not to have tried cleaning it up with tools you may have heard of because then he doesn't know where he is starting.
So I suggest hanging on for him to arrive.
Norton does have a tool called Norton Power Eraser but it can be dangerous and really ruin your day by destroying your operating system unless you know what not to do with it so with that and against what I wrote earlier ...... patience is a virtue.
Thanks... I'll wait...
