Removing Fragments After Virus Quarantine

First off - I apologize if I'm posting this to the wrong place.  Wasn't sure where to start. I'm more than happy to repost if there's a more appropriate location.

The issue: My father's laptop has two error windows that appear upon start up.  Looking at his NIS history, he's had multiple Trojan viruses quarantined over the course of the year.  Both of the error windows that pop up appear to tie in with the Trojans that were removed - as the error messages specifically state .dlls or file folders listed in the quarantine info.  It looks like fragments have been left behind so that the computer is still trying to run the program on startup.

The two error messages are as follows:

1.  RegSvr32 - The module idr20009.dll failed to load.  The module cannot  be found.

2.  RunDll - Problem starting users\Don\appdata\local\temp.  Module could not be found.

Both of these "missing modules" were specifically mentioned in the quarantined Trojan.

Backdoor.Trojan, Trojan.Zbot, and Trojan.Maljava were all listed as having been quarantined.

My question is:  How can I go about trying to clean out the left-behind fragments that are triggering the error messages?

His laptop is a Toshiba with Windows 7, 64-bit.  His version of NIS is 2013 and up to date.

Any advice would be appreciated.  Thank you!
