Removing Microsoft Security Essentials, Installing Norton Antivirus 2012

Hi All

 

Bought a 3 User License of Norton last December, a Friend of mine said it was causing my PC problems, slow website opening, and such, so i removed it for like a week to test out Microsoft Security Essentials, anyways problems still happening, so does anyone know the proper way to remove MSE completely before installing Norton Antiivrus 2012 back onto this PC

 

 

System specs if needed are

 

Socket 939 AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.20ghz

4gbs of ddr ram

160gb hard drive--boot drive-Maxtor

Western Digital 500gb-secondary drive

Western Digital 500gb External

GT430 Video card

Windows 7 64bit Sp1

 

Any Suggestions appreciated, getting a new Pc soon as can afford it as well

Thank you for replying so fast, will take  a bit to work on this, and then i'll reply back again with the outcome and how Norton is running as well,  someday will be using Quad Core based PC.
