I have lost confidence in this product & want it off my machine. Usually the normal uninstall routines do not completly get rid of an AV product so I need to know if there is an uninstall routine provided by Norton but only through a separate download.
Recently the application is telling me that Microsoft Teams needs an update. I’m retired & use the Home version. I’m a retired IT Manager of some 43 years experience so have been retired for a long time. I’ve never used teams so I really don’t understand why I’m being told there’s an update when it’s not installed on my machine.
If the standard uninstall works then great but most AV products usually have a separate uninstall routine that completely removes the product. Is this the case with Norton?

Microsoft Teams is included with both new and existing installations of Microsoft 365 Apps on Windows.
To check if Microsoft Teams is installed, users can go to the Start menu and search for Teams.
fwiw ~ I’m not finding Microsoft Teams listed here
afaik ~ Teams is not on my machine & my Norton Software Updater does not report Microsoft Teams
“completely removes the product”…well, by my uninstalls…Norton “uninstall” leaves remnants that do not interfere with another security solution.
fwiw ~ my clean uninstall
Windows 11 → Apps → Norton 360 → Uninstall → machine restart → scour File Explorer for Norton remnants → CCleaner: scour registry for Norton remnants → machine restart → allow Microsoft Defender to update & run scan

Had auto update to Norton 24.xx early October 2024 - full of errors. With-in GUI was a ‘Remove’ button, That opened something similar to bjm’s screen shot. Clicking on ‘Remove’ brought up NRnR app. which came up with error. Tried a manual remove with NRnR which also came up with same error. Had to remove thru’ Windows uninstall, downwloaded setup file from account, installed, all V24.xx errors gone. Apparently, there is a dedicated new removal tool which can be downloaded, have not tried that nor NRnR since. Assume with-in the address '" avcdn".net could be relevant. https://honzik.avcdn.net/setup/norton-suite/release/norton_360_remover.exe
fwiw ~
I think initially NRnR tool for v22 was not satisfying v24.
Norton offered Norton 360 Remover for v24.
Now, as far as I’m aware.
I think NRnR tool is satisfying v24.
Note: pick your preference https://norton.com/nrnr
Note: Norton Remove and Reinstall tool does not uninstall Norton Family from your computer. If you have Norton Family installed, uninstall it before you run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool. For instructions, read Uninstall Norton Family from your device.
