In my house there are 3 computers, all connected via a wireless router. A year ago, we bought a disc that would allow us to install Norton Anti-virus on each of the 3 computers (individually inserting it into each ones disk drive and installing the software), and since then its worked fine and we're happy with the service we're receiving. Now, its time to update, and the software on each of the computers says '3 days left, time to renew!' - just wondering, if I re-subscribe to norton, from say, my single personal computer, will that cover the other two computers also, that are on the network? or...will I have to click on 're-new subscription' on each of the 3 computers individually, and pay the re-subscription fee three times over?
If you renew for one computer, that will also extend the subscription for other two computers. You may have used the same Product Key for all the 3 computers. Hence, renewing subscription on 1 computer will reflect on all those 3 computers. After renewing subscription in 1 computer, synchronize the Norton 360 with subscription server on other two computers.
1. Start Norton 360.
2. Click My Account.
3. Click Renew Subscription.
4. Click I have already purchased a subscription. Please check my subscription status.
5. Click Next.
6. Make sure that you are connected to the Internet, then click Next. Your subscription status is verified, and you see the number of days that remain for your subscription.

Ah -- that explains part of it -- that it was not NAV.
N360 is a good fit and forget program with some extra features that can be useful to have available. However it is not yet of the same generation as NAV/NIS2009 although Symantec is working on N360 V3 at present and there is a thread running in the Norton 360 Forum here asking for suggestions and feedback, if there's anything you find could be better. V3 is likely to use the vastly improved engine of NAV 2009.
You are not losing out however if N360 does all the security you want since when N360 V3 is released -- probably in the spring -- you will be entitled to a free upgrade for the balance of the subscription you just renewed.
On your multiuser question -- it is the KEY itself which records what type of licence you have so what you have done is going to apply to the other PCs using the same KEY. And by using Renew within the program it takes care of the different number of PCs automatically.
