New Dell computer coming with 15 months of Macafee - not my choice. Bought NIS 2011 from St***** in box form.
Now is time to install NIS...
1. Do I have to completely remove Macafee to keep NIS happy?
Why doing? 'Cause I have used NIS 2010 on older computer for some time and Norton gets better reviews!
2. I have been running NIS 2010 along with Malwarebyte Anti-Malware on older computer. Any sequencing required? NIS before Anit-Malware on new computer?

Aviator327 is quite correct. Very often another security program on a machine will stop the Norton installation until it is removed. If it isn't removed thoroughly, the leftover bits and pieces can also cause problems because the software is tied into everything on the machine.
McAfee has a removal tool, as do most security products, including Norton.
