Reporting identity theft by different company NOT by Norton. why

Have notice from credible third company about possible identity theft. Norton never notified me. Can’t talk to anyone to find out why Norton couldn’t find this before I called to ask them what it’s all about. Only looked into breach when I called Norton what’s going on.
