Greetings! Current Norton Parental Control allows for time restrictions per device. We're looking for time restriction per app. The "per app" option is much more useful to us and our child than restricting the entire device. Our motivation is that as part of raise our child we allow our child to play with both educational and entertainment apps and games. But we give educational apps priority over entertainment apps and games. From our point of view (and many other parents we know) that's how it should be. Therefore we like to encourage the use of educational apps, but restrict the more addictive apps like Netflix, Youtube, games, etc.
But that's not possible in Norton Parental Control. I know that this "per app" functionality is part of recent versions of Android. But in case of Android, time control of Norton Parental Control supersedes Android's own time control per app. Meaning that if a particular educational app in Android is set for 2 hours, and Norton Parental Control for that device is set for 1 hour per day, that particular educational app is blocked after 1 hour by Norton Parental Control since the entire device is blocked after 1 hour. Which we don't want to happen. From an educational point of view, differentiating time control per app is critical. Additionally, we highly appreciate having just one dashboard for all Parental Control functionality. Not half of it in Norton, the other half in the Android device itself (where we have blocked access to these settings with Norton Parental Control anyway...)
With respect to this functionality, we would appreciate sharing some roadmap insights by a NortonLifeLock employee. (meaning: when do we get it...)
