Issues:
1) Some XLS files that NIS (version 16.5.0.134) falsely identified as infected are in Quarantine, but other XLS files only appear in Resolved Security Risks for bloodhound.exploit.252 incidents. There is no option to restore the files there. How do we restore all of the files that were falsely destroyed? (For our computers with NAV 2009, we believe that all files NAV flagged are in quarantine and recoverable there.)
2) What would help TREMENDOUSLY is if Symantec would give official word on this "virus" with respect to Excel users.
Our firm lost 100s of XLS files and wasted the whole weekend dealing with false bloodhound.exploit.252 positives. We also blew $100 on a Norton virus expert who told us yesterday (Sunday) that our system was "clean" and that restoring the XLS files was not recommended. We are now wasting yet another day running experimental tests to try to figure out if Liveupdate has been fixed yet or not, and how to most expeditiously resolve it. So far, we found that NAV 2009 PCs are no longer flagging files recovered from quarantine as having the "virus." So it seems that is tacit admission of the NAV mistake. But the Symantec website isn't updated yet to give clear word on the matter (under virus definitions and security updates). Before recovering our network files, it would be nice to get clear word from Symantec!
Thank you.
