I have purchased a norton security on a retail site and when I enter the product code and after going through the steps I get to the billing information. why am I asked for my credit/debit card information to pay for a product that I have already purchased on a retail site. How do I know that Norton will not charge me and if they do, how do I get a refund. I do not want Norton knowing my banking details. I have been buying and installing Norton security for many years, and have never been asked to provide banking details. Help with activation would be appreciated.
Having to enter your payment information even if you already purchased a product key is an unfortunate business decision taken by some/many subscription based services. The information is required to set up the Automatic Renewal ‘feature’ of your subscription. Unfortunately, there is no way to bypass this current hassle. The good news is that after completing the registration, you can immediately turn off the Automatic Renewal and delete your payment information from your Norton Account.
Norton Community urges users that do not want automatic renewal to Unsubscribe and Delete their payment profile.
