Hi
While in the process of doing a backup, it stopped short and displayed the X error ... "To run backup, you'll need to sign in so your account can be authenticated." Just a bit confusing, as I am most definitely signed into Norton on my PC. (For good measure I also signed into Norton on my web browser.) Can anyone explain what may be going on here? What am I missing? I've been trying to figure this out for the last hour or two, so if anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
As far as I'm aware there is no separate login required for a Norton Backup. If there is, I certainly can't find it. The password vault, yes, but not the backup feature.
I've uninstalled Norton 360 Premium, restarted PC, and installed Norton 360 Premium (with the latest version) once more.
But to no avail. I think I'm about to call it quits on the Norton Backup, as it shouldn't be this difficult. Thanks anyway, Permalink.
It has been some time since I had to reinstall Norton, and set up the backup again. But I seem to remember that even signed into your Norton Account in the 360 app, a separate login was required to log into Norton's backup servers.
So next time you start the backup, look for a sign in link/button when you get the message.
Thanks for the reply. The thing is - I am signed into Norton. I've actually signed out, restarted the PC, and signed back into Norton again. And I'm also signed in as the Windows Admin user account. So, it's really got me scratching my head.
Thanks again, I appreciate you taking the time to provide suggestions.
When you see this message, is there any button or link to sign into your Norton Account? You may not see the link or button unless you are signed into a Windows Admin user account.
