Run undelete from USB drive

Hi,

I've search the forums and read all FAQ's and knowledge base etc., and done a few Google searches and can't find the answer to this.

With the Norton Utilities can I run the file recovery program from a USB stick?  This is the only feature I want and, it seems to me, the most likely use of this product.

Basically, if the answer is yes I'm going to buy this program if no - it will be useless for me.

I don't have Norton Utilities installed so I cannot say for 100% sure, but I don't thing you can run it from a UFD (USB Flash Drive). You may want to look at the portable version of RECUVA from Piriform.

The file recover program needs to be installed to effectively run.  It's similar to when Norton GoBack was around.  You had to have the product installed first in order to revert the drive.  The same goes with undelete. While you could try to run it from an external drive without installing, you're chances of success are limited.  Unerase isn't a full data recovery program.  For that, something like OnTrack Easy Recovery or another dedicated data recovery program would be needed.
