Please help I have a problem in that the safari browser gets redirected to Marquis. I purchased 360 in the naive hope that it would remove the problem, no even after long on line chats. Case number #######. Also how do I return to the existing case on chat. I run a mac air Catalina 10.15.5, Norton 360 8.5.7
This link might be helpful it is to the Mozilla Web Site:
I use Firefox and I do not have any problems with video on YouTube with or with out Norton!
fantastic cleared the redirect and now learning firefox, moved bookmarks to the bookmark bar. As you can guess a prob now, cant play Youtube video. Probably not a Norton issue as it plays in safari, bummer.
Hey, OMG its only been and gorne.
Thanks for that, I will now do a clean (with Norton obivosly ) hopefully to kill the dreaded thing
Hello rich for me. The browser redirect may remain resident on the system even if you just change browsers. Give Malwarebytes FREE version the opportunity to scan and see what it can help with.
For Mac: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac-download/
Cheers
There is a lot you can do with Firefox for free that you can not do with Safari! Read up on it there is more then you can do with it then what can be said here in this Forum! If you run into the same problem that you had before try clearing the Cache in Firefox and check out all the different Extensions that can be downloaded from Mozilla . But remember it can give troubles also but you can reset it also.
Yep installed Fiefox and UBlock an all seem well As you say norton supported too and all sems well. What could possably go wrong !! Now need to get used to firefox. Thanks
One thing you have to remember is that Apple has more or less removed support for Ad Blockers Extensions and has opted for Content Blockers which are not nearly as effective as Ad Blockers. It is something Google Chrome was going to do last year but there was a big stink and as far as I know I have not heard anything more about it. But when Apple did it nothing was really said about it. You might want to try Firefox and UBlock Origin and see if your problem is still there. And Norton does fully support Firefox.
Thanks for your reply. I have an add blocker but no help
I've asked your thread be moved to the Mac forum board for better exposure to Mac users.
If it is a browser redirect, see if you can install an ad blocker extension in your browser.
You cannot return to an existing case number. All you can do is quote that case number when you contact Support again. That way they can look at the notes from that previous contact.
