Am I correct in thinking that safe search on Windows 10 is on the address bar as when I type in the address bar it says Norton safe search below the address bar when I am typing in the website? At one time I knew this but have forgotten about safe search. Safe web and safe search seem to be interrelated.
I have no idea what Norton search results annotation but as much as possible I do want to use the extension. This is getting a bit over my bead but thank you very much for you responses!

i just spoke to a support tech and he said that Norton Safe Search is hardwired to use Yahoo and that's just the way it is. Even if you configure your browser to us a different search engine. He could offer no reason. Anybody know why this is?

Um, which "Norton Safe Search" ...? browser extension or webpage ...? which browser ...?
Norton Safe Web extension supports Search results annotation for Google/Yahoo/Bing on Chrome browser alone.
For Firefox/Edge/Safari browsers, we don't offer the search annotation on Google/Yahoo/Bing, but our extension will continue to offer below features on Firefox/Edge/Safari.

“SourceForge are (sic) abusing the trust that we and our users had put into their service in the past,” according to the GIMP project. Since 2013, SourceForge has been bundling junkware along with their installers — sometimes without a developer’s permission.
Junkware is not necessarily malware. It can be PUPs ( Possibly Unwanted Program.) While they are annoying, they do not cause damage to your system. Some people actually want the 'Features' offered by these programs. They are usually downloaded alongside a legitimate download when you do not uncheck the option for the additional download.
Sourceforge's ethics may be in question, but Safe Web looks for actual malware, not PUPs. Unless they also come along with some other payload.
But there is also an update to the above article that states...
"Update: Since the writing of this article, SourceForge has been sold to a new company that stopped the DevShare program discussed in this article. We’re leaving this article here for historical reference, but it has since stopped these shady practices."
