Sorry for not joining a thread. I have been trying for over an hour now and on getting to this by chance I daren't risk losing it!
Re my site "frenchfarmhousebordeaux.com"
Step 1. I have added Norton's publically viewable file at the root folder of my website, which can be seen using your code http://frenchfarmhousebordeaux.com/nortonsw_6afc8300-ab90-0.html.
Step 2. On initiating the verification process I receive either a "failed" notification or second Login option which results in:

I have clients waiting to view my site who won't be impressed if they see the grey questionmark against the website.
