I have used Norton Online Family/Safety Minder successfully on our computers for a couple of years now. Lately, however, one computer has been having the issue with Norton continually prompting to install and update and reboot the PC. I saw elsewhere on the board that many people have solved this by uninstalling and reinstalling Safety Minder.
I successfully uninstalled Safety Minder, but now when trying to reinstall, the installation halts with an "Application Compatibility Check" message:
"A problem has occurred that needs your attention.
One or more programs on your computer are not compatible with this Norton product. Please uninstall all programs listed below, and then restart this process."
It then lists McAfee Security Center and provides a button for me to uninstall McAfee. I'm baffled by this because this PC has always had McAfee Security Center on it, and Norton Safety Minder has always worked fine on it. I haven't changed versions of anything, just uninstalled Safety Minder, rebooted, and attempted to install again. I can't find any reference to Safety Minder being incompatible with McAfee Security Center on this board...
Does anyone have any ideas? I wonder if this compatibility check might also be responsible for Safety Minder asking over and over for me to apply the upgrade and reboot...
Thanks for any help anyone can provide!
