I wanted to resize a partition, but on starting Partition Magic I got a message that " something" was the wrong length on the disk (sorry, I didn't note it down) and did I want Partition Magic to correct the error. I clicked 'yes', but when Partition Magic started the disk had yellow lines at the top and bottom and while is showed the correct size, drive letter was the text "bad drive".
I could not create a partition, but could format. When I formatted the computer restarted but Partition Magic gave an error 4 message. On restarting the computer, the disk no longer shows in Partition Magic, nor is it listed under the Hard disk section of the Device Manager.
Does anybody have an explanation of what has happened or how I can regain access to the Hard Disk which is a 500MB Samsung SATA drive The operating system is XP Home SP SP3.
Thanks,
