Hi dmeans43,
Here are some easy to use steps for you to get up and away with Norton Save & Restore:
1.Right click the Save & Restore - icon in activity field in the lower right corner of your screen.
2.Select by clicking "Define New Backup", and you will get an easy to use set up of your 1st Backup.
3.Go through all steps to be sure all your personal requirements are in place.
4.And after that select "Run backup now", or only click "Finish" and wait for the scheduled timing if selected, that will perform the same thing.
5.Keep your backup images in a safe place as they include vital data from your own system !!

Hi Kurt;
Thanks for your input. Maybe I'm running off really old tapes here but after I click on "norton save & restore" then "backup my computer" shouldn't I be offered a choice of incremental or differential backup? Am I making it too complicated? Most of my formitive learning was with DOS so possibly that's my problem.
I've already made my first backup. Is that why I don't get the option to switch?
Hi dmeans43,
Before you begin this process, you should delete the job that you have already created for the drive.
1) On the Home page, click Run or Manage Backups.
2) In the Run or Manage Backups window, click Define New.
(If you have not yet defined a backup, the Easy Setup dialog appears instead)
3) Click Back up my computer, and then click Next.
4) Select one or more drives to back up, and then click Next.
Press and hold Ctrl to select multiple drives.
If you do not see a drive that you expected to see, check Show Hidden Drives.
5) Click Define a new backup to define a new backup, and then click Next.
6) Select the type of recovery point that you want the backup to create. In this case, you want to create a Recovery Point Set.
From here, there are several settings that you can set for the Backup Job. Be sure to look through all the options to see which ones you prefer. All of the information listed above plus additional information about the options is available in Chapter 4 of the User Guide:
Thanks!
