Scan an individual email and attachment with norton360

I tried to scan an email which arrived with a .docx attachment but could not see anyway to do this.

I did a right click on the document but there is no reference / link to Norton.

Can anyone please advise me what to do?

Many thanks

I think I understand what you say. I do not like the idea of saving what I believe may be a malicious attachment.
I never had to save files like this previously. Mind you its a long time since I wanted to check a file.
Thanks for your answer.

John

If you have a document in an email it is an attachment. What email client are you using to view your emails? As an example, in Thunderbird, if there is an attachment, it is displayed at the bottom of the email pane and allows you to save the file.

From your first post, you right click on the document, there should be a Save or Save As option.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I cannot see any attachment to open.

You need to save the attachment to disk -- such as saving it to your desktop.  Then right-click on the file and you should see the option for Norton to scan it.  Attachments cannot be scanned directly from the email.  As long as you do not open the attachment, it is safe to do this (and even if you should accidentally open it, Norton will catch it if it is malicious anyway).
