It's definately advisable to upgrade to the latest version 2010
Besides this it is best to use an anti virus as well as a firewall
HI ttobi22,
I would recommend that you consider Norton Internet Security (NIS) or Norton 360 to replace the NAV you currently have. Both have built-in two way firewalls and are very good security programs.
You can see the differences in the two here. In general N360 is somewhat less customizable but is good for the average user who does not need or want a whole lot of control. NIS is great if you desire maximum control.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.

You are correct Krusty. Edge after my last WU doesn't show web annotations. Chrome and IE still do.
Cheers
Neither Edge (Google / Bing searches) nor Firefox (Google / Bing searches) have Safe web annotations anymore.
Just today I found the last Windows updates had actually created 2 instances of Bing under addon's in IE11. Removing one instance and restarting IE no safe web green checks appeared on search results. Removing BING and re-adding Google search engine restored things back to normal. I also use safe search in Edge and Chrome on occasion, they also have Google search engine and work perfectly. I don't use FF at all.

...Is there a way to get a simple search utilising FireFox or similar?
SoulAsylum:...As long as you have the extensions remain enabled in your browser, you will still get the safe search green checks with your search results. And a better, more accurate listing than Ask.com
Hi SoulAsylum:
I don't think that works in Firefox, although I believe Safe Web site ratings will still be displayed if you use the Google/Bing search engines in other browsers like Chrome and IE.
I can't test with the Safe Search feature bundled inside the latest Norton Safe Web for Firefox v3.8.0.6 (my legacy FF ESR v52 browser doesn't support versions older than NSW v3.7.0.11) but as far as I know Norton Safe Web for Firefox will only displays site rating icons in search results if you use Norton Safe Search - see CurrentR's November 2017 thread Bring Back Safeweb Icons for Google Search in Firefox - Please Reply.
I currently use the Bitdefender TrafficLight for Firefox v3.0.0 extension in my legacy FF ESR v52 browser to display site rating icons in my Google search results, although there might be better alternatives that are compatible with the latest FF v68 for Win 7 and higher.

Hello alan. In Firefox you can change the default search engine following this guide. As long as you have the extensions remain enabled in your browser, you will still get the safe search green checks with your search results. And a better, more accurate listing than Ask.com .
