Secure VPN causing Google to frequently require Captcha authentication

When I have Secure VPN enabled and I am searching using the google search engine I frequently am required to validate that I am not a robot via Captcha. Turning off Secure VPN during that time stops the prompt from occurring.

On researching this it looks like a common problem during hi traffic times when many requests are being made to google from the same VPN IP address.

Is Norton working with Google to resolve this?

  • Perhaps sharing thier VPN IP Address list with Google so that any Secure VPN users are not flagged for suspicious activity while using google services and connected to the Norton Secure VPN service.

My Device Information:

  • Norton Secure VPN Version 3.3.1.1888
  • Mobile Device: iPhone X (iOS 12.3.1)

From the linked information, at least this is not a Norton specific issue.

I have never seen it personally while I am using Norton VPN.

I'll pass this post along to our Norton contacts.
