Secure VPN Disconnects Automatically

When I originally posted, only my laptop VPN was malfunctioning; on my Android phone it was working. Well... not anymore :(

At first I thought it was because I restarted it, but... no. It seems to happen randomly - which, as a former IT person, makes me quite nervous.

There are clearly MULTIPLE issues with this feature.

Dear Norton: showing VPN as a feature on any of your products is definitely false advertising.

I agree. What good does it to have VPN when it turns off all the time and you do not know if you are protected or not and have to check constantly to turn on. They should fix this and let us know what to do to keep VPN on.

Same I am facing two issues-

1. Secure VPN keeps on saying connecting, that's it- it never connects.

2. Once a while if it connects it disconnects every 1 hour or so automatically without any notification.

3. Also, when I start my device, this VPN never connects automatically.

Same here, you cannot check every 5 minutes to see if your still protected.

Same issue. This effectively negates the value of the VPN, does it not?

No fix; they just gave me an extra 30 days on my subscription when I complained and said they will contact me when its fixed. That was 6 weeks ago and no fix.

Same issue. Hope there is a fix.

Same issue here. I would like the option of having VPN active at bootup and NOT disconnect unless I specifically choose to disable it.  Why is it a good thing for VPN to disable itself quietly only to be discovered if you open My Norton?

Yes, I have the same issue! I always thought that once I set the VPN to be turned on, it would be on forever. I recently opened my settings and discovered the VPN was turned off. I'm not sure when exactly it gets turned off, but it needs to be fixed to stay on until it's changed by the user. I can't believe this security system can't be made to give comfort to those of us that aren't that tech savoy and pay premium bucks to protect our systems! Norton, please fix this critical issue!

I have the same issue.  The older version (2018  - 2019) would allow you to set the VPN so it automatically started and you had to turn it off.  Now I have to start the VPN and it automatically turns off after a period of time.  I feel very vulnerable when logging into a WiFi when traveling then having to start VPN.

Hopefully, someone at Norton can identify this fix.

Agreed.  I thought the prior version would stay on unless the computer shut down.  Is there a way to make it auto connect?
