I recently have started getting Security Alert pop up notifications in my emails. They say "The Identity of this website or the integrity of this connection cannot be verified." They offer the choice to either proceed, not proceed or view the certificate. They seem to appear randomly from a few different known email senders. Because I am getting them from known addresses, I've always just clicked out of the pop up and not worried about it. One in particular, a list I've been subscribed to for a while, is a daily e-reader book deal list ("EreaderIQ Daily") and is the one currently causing me the problem. For some reason today, I can not click out of the notification no matter what I click on. I have had to close out my email folder with Task Manager but I cannot delete the specific email from this sender because I keep getting stuck with the pop up every time.
I've tried temporarily disabling Norton email scan to see if that would stop the Security Alert but it didn't. I don't know what else might be causing it but I'm hoping maybe someone here could help me. I'm currently using Windows Vista with Norton Security Version 22.9.3.13. My email is a POP3 format through Windows Mail with Verizon Fios as my ISP.
Can anyone suggest a way for me to turn off the Security Alert so I can delete the email and more importantly, suggest where these alerts could be coming from.
Thank you very much.
