Security at Risk message

I'm running 360 on Windows XP.  The Norton icon in the bottom right tray of my desktop has a small red x in the bottom right corner.  When I click on it I get a window with a red box saying Security at Risk.  I have tried Fix Now; I have run Live update and re-started the computer; I have used Norton Power Eraser; I went back to a system restore point; and I used the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool.  Power Eraser and Recovery Tool both say they cannot find any problems, but the red x is still there with a Security at Risk message.  Any ideas on a fix?

the Update Center tells me I'm using the latest version.  I just renewed my subscription 2 months ago.  I only set my restore point to Mid-November before I started getting this message, so 360 was already installed.

Check that your system date and time are correct.

Click on Support - Subscription Status to have your computer sync with the Symantec subscription servers.

Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.

clicking on Support - Get Support after you have done the updates, to run Autofix to check your installation and fix what it finds.

If the above steps doesn't work,  try this

Download the Norton Removal Tool from here www.norton.com/nrt
Download the N360 installer from here www.norton.com
If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Use the CSV format.
Uninstall your Norton product with Windows control panel.
Reboot.
Run the Norton Removal Tool.
Reboot.
Run the N360 installer
Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.
See if your Identity Safe will work, if so you are done. If not, Import your Identity Safe data.

Hope this would help.

Any system restore can confuse Norton, because the history information no longer resembles what Norton now sees on your system.

Aravind's instructions are close, but as I originally said, your version determines the best tool to use.

Because you already have the latest version of 360, you should start by using the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool.

Download the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool from here   www.norton.com/nrnr
If you use Identity Safe, backup/export your data. Use the CSV format.
Run the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool.
Reboot.
Run LiveUpdate manually a few times, rebooting as necessary, until no updates are available.

Try to log into your Identity Safe. If you can, you are done. If not, Import your Identity Safe data.

Let us know how you do.
